Washing the vehicle after wrapping
Below is a direct quote from the film manufacturer 3M, and we have nothing to add here:
We hand out special leaflets with simple washing rules to owners of all vehicles that we have wrapped. However, if you have lost this reminder, or in case you want to print an extra copy or you own a carwash and want to make sure that your employees know what they are doing, you can download a copy of the leaflet here:
Do not wash the vehicle in a carwash or with high pressure wash equipment for at least 5 days after application.
These washing methods can be used when the film has achieved maximum adhesion. However, a number of points should be noted:
Use cleaning methods that:
• Are not abrasive
• Have a pH between 3 and 11
• Do not use strong solvent or alcohol containing
cleaning products
• Do not use a hot-wax cleaning programme
Instructions for high pressure washing:
- Maximum water temperature: 70°C
- Minimum distance: 30cm from vehicle
- Maximum water pressure: 80 bar
- Spray angle: direct the water at a 90° angle
- Never direct the water directly at the edges of the film
